Abstract: The move to incorporate security into the DevOps pipeline has gotten world wide attention. DevSecOps has become an essential consideration for DevOps transformation initiatives. In this session, Mark Miller, Core Organizer of DevSecOps Days and Executive Producer of the DevSecOps Podcast Series, will talk about the culture of DevSecOps, the most current advances in the community and the benefits that can be gained by considering automation of security at every stage of the software supply chain. Research from the 2019 DevSecOps Community Survey, as well as newly released data from the 2019 Software Supply Chain report will be used to show measurable proof that automating security has an ROI, and can be seen as a business decision, not just as a technological one.
Malcom Gladwell would call Mark Miller “A Connector”. Wherever he goes, one of the things he is most happy with is the ability to introduce people to each other, making connections where they didn’t previously exist. He has done this on every continent in the world as part of an ongoing desire to see connections where other people see differences.
Mark’s main expertise is in developing and supporting massive online communities built around specific market verticals. These online communities bleed over into the real world, where relationships are strengthened and expanded.
Mark is currently Vice President at Sonatype, where he manages the community initiatives for All Day DevOps, DevSecOps Days, the DevSecOps Podcast Series and is Editor-in-Chief of DevSecOps Days Press.
