Title: Peek-a-boo: How Attackers Hide Threats Behind Well Known Services
Abstract:
Bio: With over 20 years experience in cybersecurity, and as a founder of two cybersecurity startups, Mike is passionate about working with enterprise security teams to identify gaps in their existing security tools & products and then partnering with them to design innovative new solutions to meet these needs.
At his first startup, NetCitadel, Mike led the team that designed and built what became one of the first Security Orchestration and Automated Response (SOAR) platforms on the market. Acquired by Proofpoint in 2014, the NetCitadel products are still actively sold and include Threat Response Auto-Pull (TRAP) which is used by thousands of enterprise customers to automate the remediation process for retracting threats that were delivered via email.
Mike spent over 4 years at Proofpoint leading the product management and engineering teams responsible for Threat Response, ET Intelligence and Targeted Attack Protection (TAP). While at Proofpoint he worked closely with a wide range of customers to deliver solutions that kept pace with the ever evolving threat landscape.
Most recently Mike co-founded TwinWave Security to help enterprise security teams improve their threat analysis workflow by replacing fragmented tools and manual processes with a fully automated threat analysis platform that solves the “analysis gap” created by current tools. He now spends his time working with customers to help SOC and IR teams leverage the TwinWave Security platform to more quickly and accurately detect credential phishing and malware threats.
