Ryan Powell

As Global Head of Cloud, AI and Data Security, Ryan Powell
leads an organization of security experts that manage risk,
protect MetLife’s enterprise, and enable customer growth.
Under Ryan leadership, he has advanced multiple programs
(Information security strategy, Cloud Security, Identity and Access Management, AI
Security, Incident Response, Data Protection, Vulnerability Management, and Risk
Management) and most recently MetLife was recognized as a leading security practice in
the financial service industry.

Ryan began his career in Information Security over 20 years ago and is passionate about
giving back to the Information Security community and developing future leaders. He
participates in working groups with FS-ISAC, National Institute of Standards and
Technology and Cloud Security Alliance and is sought out as a trusted advisor to share
his perspective on information security trends and leading practices.
Ryan earned a bachelor’s degree in business information systems at the University of
North Carolina at Wilmington and lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife and two
children.
