Dr. Lawrence Taub
Dr. Lawrence Taub is a Managing Director at Mandiant where he runs the Mandiant Strategic Services team for the Southeast U.S. region, providing support for clients to build, enhance, assess, and test their security program. Dr. Taub previously supported Mandiant’s clients with incident response and investigations and led some of Mandiant’s most well-known breach investigations.
With over 15 years of experience in a variety of industries, Dr. Taub has a strong background in a variety of security disciplines. He has run security operations centers for federal critical infrastructure as well as private companies. He has led security engineering and architecture projects at a variety of scales. In addition, he has significant experience in software engineering and has had the pleasure of successfully building and taking an embedded software product through the FIPS 140-2 certification process.
Dr. Taub entered the security field as threat and vulnerability management consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Subsequent to that, he built embedded software products for communications for a defense contractor. He followed up with running security operations for a federal agency’s critical infrastructure network. Prior to joining Mandiant, Dr. Taub ran security operations, incident response, and threat intelligence for a payments processor.
In addition to his responsibilities with Mandiant, Dr. Taub is an adjunct professor for the Florida Tech Master’s program in Information Assurance and Cybersecurity.
Dr. Taub received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Engineering from the University of Florida, and his PhD from Nova Southeastern University’s School of Computer and Information System.
