John Ghose is a former federal cybercrime prosecutor who currently serves as Partner at VeraSafe, a global cybersecurity and data privacy advisory firm, where he leads North American commercial operations. Prior to joining VeraSafe, John worked in-house at Microsoft as Principal Corporate Counsel with the Business and Regulatory Investigations team, where he managed global anti-corruption and business misconduct investigations. John has also served as a partner and co-chair of the National Data Security, Privacy & Technology Practice Section at a national law firm based in Atlanta, Georgia.  From 2011-2021, John was a federal criminal prosecutor with the United States Department of Justice at U.S. Attorney’s Offices in Philadelphia and Atlanta, and with the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section at Main Justice, in Washington, D.C. John is a subject-matter expert on crypto-enabled cybercrime, such as ransomware and dark web markets, and has presented to law enforcement and private sector audiences in over 50 countries around the world. John is a 2005 graduate of Penn Law School, where he was a senior editor on the Law Review and president of the South Asian Law Students Association. After graduation, John clerked for Judge Norma L. Shapiro of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and Judge Jane R. Roth of the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
