Micah Williams

Biography

Micah Williams is a Senior Software Security Engineer at Oracle. He has over 16 years of experience in software development and testing in the data networking and telecommunications fields. In his current role at Oracle, Micah focuses on writing custom security pen-testing tools, providing secure coding training for developers, and conducting security research for Oracle Communications products. His particular areas of interest in software security are fuzzing and reverse engineering. Prior to joining Oracle, Micah spent nearly nine years at Cisco Systems doing software development for embedded systems and writing automated test tools for networking products. A lifelong “hacker”, Micah enjoys finding ways to make software fail, so that more hardened and secure systems can be delivered to customers. Micah holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Fayetteville State University.

Telecommunications Service Providers manage the critical communications infrastructure that enables today’s advanced mobile networks providing consumers with an always connected user experience. Security concerns abound and suppliers of equipment, software and services to the telecom industry are peppered with many questions. Jim Peterman and Don Ross, from Oracle’s Communications Global Business Unit, will explore some of the unique security challenges in protecting this highly valuable “middle ground” between consumers and the services they desire to use.
